Lauren's Blog - October 5th

(10/05/2009) Lauren Tancredi

October, for those of us who have the pleasure of experiencing seasons, will see the leaves change their color and fall from the trees. Children will soon be ringing our doorbells for that not so healthy candy treat in a parade of costumes. And there of those of us who actively participate in our local community to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To get involved, check out the NBCAM website for events in your area.

To many women and their families the pink ribbon you will see around town this month signifies strength, courage and hope. With over 2.5 million Breast Cancer Survivors living in the United States, The Life Center for Healthy Aging would like to remind women the importance of having mammogram or breast screening annually. Working in a preventive care center we cannot stress the importance of asking the right questions, staying educated and taking action before problems arise.

Remind those you love to find a low cost screening near you.
