Farmers Markets

Spring is here and that means open air markets - all over the place.  This month Lauren and I are taking a weekend trip to Portland, Oregon which will include a visit to the downtown farmers market.  I don't know about you but I love going to farmers markets and buying freshly picked vegetables of all kinds.  I am guilty of buying too much at times.  Farmers markets are not only good for the fruits and vegetables but it's also a great place to meet friends, listen to music and learn a bit about agriculture, nutrition, wine, cheese and flowers.  It's a great time to taste-test and possibly expand your nutritional horizons.  Take a healthy break from your weekly routine and find a farmers market near you.   And just think - if you're walking around the market place, it means you're NOT sitting on the couch or in front of your computer!  Enjoy!
