The Life Story

It all started back in the fall of 1997. Dr. Life had been practicing family medicine for 30 years, fixed on caring for the health and well-being of his patients. Then one day, he took a long, hard look in the mirror. At 59, he was overweight with a poorly conditioned body and declining health.

"My joints and muscles ached, I had shortness of breath whenever I climbed just one short flight of stairs, my clothes were too tight and my stomach was huge. I realized it was long past time to focus some of that medical attention on myself."

He came across a magazine issue, showing the winners of the Body-for-Life contest and was motivated to change his destiny. He followed a low-glycemic/low-fat diet, took supplements and plunged into a heavy exercise regimen with help from a trainer. At the end of 1998, at age 60-after 12 weeks of eating and training right-he became the Grand Champion in Bill Phillip's 1998 Body-for-LIFE Contest.

He had done more than transform his body . . . he transformed his life.

Over the next two to three years, Dr. Life kept up his nutritional/fitness regimen, but noticed he was losing some ground as he edged toward 63: gaining abdominal fat, losing muscle mass and strength, diminished energy levels, waning libido, reduced work productivity and lower exercise capacity.

He was at the peak of his frustration level when he was introduced to the Cenegenics Medical Institute and a whole different level of proactive protocols. In just two weeks, he started to see-and feel-a marked shift in his body, mind and spirit. It was the catalyst that moved him from family medicine to age management medicine and laid the groundwork for his becoming somewhat of an icon for healthy aging.

Since 2006, his before-and-after pictures have captured national and international media attention as people fly from across the world to become his patients and manage their aging process.

Just one article featuring his health journey triggered approximately 7,000 calls from potential patients the month it was published-as well as a barrage of international media requests for interviews, TV documentaries and radio appearances.

Today, Dr. Life still walks the talk, fueling his passion for exercise and maximized living as he inspires people worldwide.
