Life Lines - Issue 1

Hello and welcome to the first March issue of my e-newsletter, Life Lines.

In previous newsletters, I shared about my personal health journey and exercise routines. Now, I'm introducing my personal trainer in both March issues to give you an "inside track" on the why and how of resistance training for more youthful aging.

You'll hear right from my trainer Rod Stanley, a fitness specialist-expert and nutrition counselor who recently joined my Life team so patients can experience his results-driven inspiration.

  • My Life Beat: The right training is absolutely crucial for cardiac health and muscular strength. And as Rod says, "Resistance training is the single and most effective way to lose body fat and achieve a high level of physical fitness." Read my column to learn more about his take on the "why" behind resistance training.
  • Life Lessons: In the war against fat, which is better: resistance training or aerobics? Read this issue's Life Lessons to find out what a 2009 study revealed.
  • Ask Dr. Life: Have you been improving your physique, but dealing with muscle soreness and fatigue? Free radicals may be the issue. Read more on page 4 of this issue.
  • Annie's "Life" Recipes: It's another tasty creation by my wife. Try her pan-seared scallops . . . a healthy and easy-to-make recipe.

Stay in control of your health: Read Life Lines. Take a few moments and browse this issue-or print it out for a later read.
