Age Management Medicine
Age Management Medicine (AMM) is an
exciting
new medical specialty that is dedicated to the science of youthful aging.
AMM emphasizes the enhancement of health over the treatment of illness.
Traditional medical practices follow a “fix it when it breaks” or
“diagnose and treat” approach. AMM, on the other hand, focuses on disease
prevention and wellness. Its goal is to promote a more dynamic life
throughout middle age and beyond by utilizing scientifically sound, 21st
Century strategies that enhance health, quality of life, and longevity.
These strategies include the
promotion of specific exercise and nutritional programs that are designed
to lower body fat, increase muscle mass and strength, reduce risk factors for illness,
and improve overall cardiovascular fitness.
Hormone levels and other biomarkers
of aging that are essential to the maintenance of health and youthfulness
are also monitored and modulated to levels that have been conclusively proven to enhance optimal health,
vitality, and longevity. On a personal note, I have witnessed these
results and they are, indeed, impressive.
The Cenegenics Medical Institute,
started in 1997, is now the largest and most experienced AMM Practice in
the world with patients from every state and several countries. They have
literally become the gold standard of Age Management
Medicine. They continue to lead the way in experimental research and clinical advancement
in this exciting new field of medicine.
In August 2003, I became certified
in AMM by the Cenegenics Medical Institute and am very proud to tell you that I
am now an associate of their medical staff, effective January 1, 2004.
